Helena Inverno is a filmmaker, transdisciplinary artist, curator, cultural mediator and independent film producer.

She has worked and studied in Lisbon, London, Zuerich, Rio, Tokyo, Brest, Marrakesh and Beja.

Presently in Alentejo, Inverno is collaborating and curating at Festival Giacometti and at Museu Rainha Dona Leonor annual bridging communities weekend.

Arts, Politics of Representation, Philosophy and Biology are areas of continuous research, questioning, experimentation and praxis.

Inverno values sharing creative processes with other artists, scientists and thinkers that intersect in performing arts, cinema, music and video art.

Inverno forms a duo with director and anthropologist Verónica Castro, where she explores the relationships and points of tension between cinema and anthropology.

Inverno collaborates with internationally renowned artists and has received commissions as film director, film editor, director of photography and director of sound.

Helena Inverno is a Central Saint Martins College / University of the Arts London alumni. She was mentored by avant-garde filmmakers while immersing in the Expanded Cinema and Pushing the Boundaries art movements.
