You have built a sacred piece of the only way that seems possible to me to reach the sacred: having no pretense of it, describing the scandalous humanity of the last ones.

José Tolentino Mendonça

This documentary follows a group of prison inmates as they prepare to perform the annual Easter ritual, the Via Crucis, with a community of villagers in the northeast region of Portugal.

Solemn and surreal moments that lead convicts and members of a rural community to take real and symbolic communion together.

In an intimate, moving and brave way, women, husbands, and children break silence to tell their experiences of a struggle shared with family and community.

Performed entirely in Baixo Alentejo, MOVING FOWARD is a documentary that reveals to us that breast cancer is often a beginning of life.
